Ireland 2025 – motorcycle and golf tour

Now the grim weather has arrived, I have finally completed the full video of the Ireland tour which included a round at Cruit Island. . It’s a difficult balancing act – biking golfers are few and far between, so I end up with too much golf for the biking fraternity and too much motorcycling for the golfers.  There is always the ‘fast forward’ button.  We were especially lucky with the weather – mostly bright sunshine when on two wheels, but still and vaguely damp on the one day of golf.  This might sound disappointing, but in reality it was welcome – the sea was calm and the wind almost non-existent, just perfect for coastal golf.

The weather, of course, meant we saw Ireland in a perfect light and with an open invitation to return from the two golfing brothers I met at Cruit Island, Tim and Simon, it is a temptation I will struggle to resist.  I am also in the middle of reading Richard Pennell’s wonderful new book, Common Grounds which not only includes Cruit Island but the added temptation of Carne and Mulranny, among others.  I am certain to return.

Apologies for the irritating raindrops on the lens – a small price to pay for a calm day.  This is a taster for a much longer video and article due later …
